Assessment of Historical Skills in Secondary Education: a comparative study in England and Spain

Are you currently training to be a secondary history teacher in England? Do you work with trainee English secondary history teachers?

If yes, you may be interested in the following research project. ‘Assessment of Historical Skills in Secondary Education: a comparative study in England and Spain’ is a research project funded by the Spanish government and run by Dr Cosme J. Gómez Carrasco (University of Murcia) and Dr Arthur Chapman (UCL Institute of Education).

The project aims to compare the assessment of historical competencies in Secondary Education in England and Spain. Curriculum documents, textbooks and assessment materials in both countries will be compared and we aim to compare trainee teachers’ thinking about curriculum and assessment in history in both countries using a questionnaire.

The project questionnaire for trainee secondary history teachers is available at this link.

The questionnaire is anonymous and no personal data is through the questionnaire.
